It is a forward thinking, inter-disciplinary and research active department, which offers undergraduate programmes in Criminology &amp; Psychology, Criminology &amp; Sociology, Social Sciences and Law together with Masters programmes in Social Work, Forensic Psychology, and Terrorism and Counter-Terrorism Studies. The Department is also home to an energetic research community and prides itself on its commitment to social justice which is underlined in its teaching, research, and external activities.</p><p style="margin-left:0cm;">We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated colleague to join our dynamic and multidisciplinary team as Lecturer in Criminology (Teaching Focus) with a September 2026 start and on a fixed-term basis for 12 months. In this post, we are seeking applicants to contribute to our teaching delivery on our BSc Criminology &amp; Psychology and BSc Criminology &amp; Sociology programmes. The position will involve teaching undergraduate core and option modules on these courses and we are interested in candidates with teaching expertise or experience in the following: Crimes of the Powerful, Introduction to Criminology, Criminal Justice System, Key Perspectives and Debates in Criminology, and/or Quantitative Research Methods for Criminological Psychologists. Applicants with a (forensic/criminological) Psychology background that could supervise dissertations in our BPS-accredited BSc Criminology and Psychology programme are especially encouraged to apply.             <p style="margin-left:0cm;" data-pasted="true">The post holder&rsquo;s substantive role will be Professor or Associate Professor, with a fixed-term appointment of three years as Associate Pro-Vice-Chancellor (with the potential for extension for an additional 3 years).</p><p style="margin-left:0cm;" data-pasted="true">The Associate Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Education and Student Experience) is a senior leadership role within the University. The role holder will provide strategic leadership with a focus on translating institutional priorities into deliverable plans that improve the student experience and student outcomes. They will help to drive the successful delivery of the RH2030s Education and Student Experience Action Plan, playing a pivotal role in delivering a portfolio of strategic projects that enhance the University&rsquo;s curriculum, strengthen teaching practice, ensure the quality of our provision, and the agility and ongoing relevance of our educational approaches. They will be essential to sustaining the delivery of key education related performance indicators, with a particular focus on enhancing the student experience and improving student outcomes.</p><p style="margin-left:0cm;">Reporting to the Pro-Vice-Chancellor Education and Student Experience, the successful candidate will work in partnership with the Faculty Deans, Associate Deans, Heads of Education and relevant lead/s for professional services to support the quality of our provision and the delivery of University strategy.</p><p style="margin-left:0cm;">The Chief Student Officer, and their team, will work in partnership with the Associate PVC Education &amp; Student Experience to ensure alignment of academic priorities and student facing services, ensuring a coherent delivery of RH2030s strategy. In particular, they will work together in key areas of student engagement, data driven improvement, and the delivery of policies and initiatives that support student success.</p><p style="margin-left:0cm;">The role holder will participate in key groups and committees, including Education Leadership Group and University Education Committee, and will serve as deputy to the Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Education &amp; Student Experience) in their role as Chair.</p><p style="margin-left:0cm;">The Associate Pro-Vice-Chancellor (ESE) is responsible for supporting a positive and inclusive environment for all colleagues and students.</p><p style="margin-left:0cm;"><strong>The position is being advertised as 3-year term (with the possibility of extension).
