Applications are invited for the posts of Weekend Library Assistant in the Library.

We are seeking to appoint enthusiastic candidates to the role of library assistant. Extended hours library assistants are key to continuing delivery of a high standard of library service during weekday evenings and at the weekend.

Applicants should be enthusiastic with good communication skills and the ability to interact successfully with a wide variety of people. You should be able to work as a member of the team and cope in a calm efficient manner, under pressure. You will have good IT and social media skills, excellent attention to detail and have experience of working in a customer service environment. Candidates should be qualified to A-level standard.

Post holders for these positions will be required to work alternate weekends in a rota with other library assistants.

There are two shift patterns available

  • Friday           17:00-21:15                       
  • Saturday     14:55-21:15
  • Sunday        14:55 -21:15                

                OR                         

  • Saturday   08:55 - 15:15
  • Sunday      08:55- 15:15

The successful candidates will need to be available to attend induction sessions prior to commencing the role.
