Lecturer (Clinical Tutor)

A clinical supplement of £4294.00 will be payable in addition to salary.

We are very pleased to announce the availability of a Lecturer (Teaching-Focussed)/Clinical Tutor post within the DClinPsy Programme in the Department of Psychology.  The person appointed will contribute to the running of a wide range of aspects of the doctorate, such as teaching, research supervision, and trainee support and development. The main administrative responsibility for the post involves a clinical tutor role mainly focused on coordinating practice placements and developing trainees’ clinical competences. There are also opportunities for the post-holder to develop his or her own research interests in a way that supports the research and research supervision on the DClinPsy.  

This is a really exciting time for clinical psychology, with a substantial expansion of training, and the posts offer an opportunity for those appointed to develop the Programme in line with current and future NHS priorities. The person appointed will join a friendly, close-knit team of 12 academic staff and three administrative staff who are committed to training high quality clinical psychologists to meet the psychological needs of the population.  The DClinPsy is an integral part of a vibrant Psychology Department, which ranks among the top 10 psychology departments for research in the country. The posts are designated as lectureships within the professional practice pathway, which recognises and rewards the applied nature of the work of clinical psychology.
