The successful candidate will lead the delivery of strategic transformation through modern integration technologies such as SQL Server Integration Services and Azure Integration Services (Logic Apps and Data Factory) with a team of three developers for this Project (two new and one existing resource).</p><p style="margin-left:0cm;">The role offers the opportunity to support a high-impact project that will improve service delivery to students and enhance the customer experience. Through the development of robust machine learning models, and uncertainty-aware prediction methods, the project aims to improve the early detection of movement-related symptoms, behavioural changes and other digital biomarkers associated with neurological and long-term health conditions. The post holder will contribute to research outputs and support the wider development of digital health research within the Computer Science department.</p><p style="margin-left:0cm;"><strong>The successful candidate will:</strong></p><p style="margin-left:0cm;">You will have a Master&rsquo;s degree in Digital Health, Healthcare, or a closely related discipline, with a strong interest in applying machine learning to health and wearable sensor data. The post is open to applicants with a background in any area of psychology, although there is a preference for expertise in developmental psychology.</p><p style="margin-left:0cm;">Applicants should possess the broad range of skills required to teach effectively at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, and to lead others in teaching delivery and development. While such protocols are often designed to provide advanced security and privacy guarantees, these do not always align well with the real-world needs of the users who rely on them. Furthermore, many users find it difficult to meaningfully interact with such technologies due to their complexity and lack of transparency. Electronic voting systems are a prominent example, where strong technical guarantees may coexist with limited usability, understanding, and trust.</p><p style="margin-left:0cm;">This project aims to design new security definitions and cryptographic protocols that better align with users&rsquo; real-world needs, with a particular focus on advanced privacy. Our proposed approach combines modular protocol design to improve understandability with user studies to better capture and formalise practical privacy requirements.</p><p style="margin-left:0cm;"><strong>The successful candidate will:</strong></p><p style="margin-left:0cm;">You will have a PhD in Computer Science or Maths (or be near completion) with a strong research record in the area of cryptography, preferably with experience in provable security.             <p style="margin-left:0cm;" data-pasted="true">Full-Time, Fixed-Term (12 months contract).</p><p style="margin-left:0cm;">Applications are invited for the post of Postdoctoral Research Fellow (PDRF) in the Department of Earth Sciences.</p><p style="margin-left:0cm;">We are looking for a highly motivated individual to join the research project <strong>&ldquo;Fault system architecture in the Liverpool Bay area (UK)&rdquo;</strong>.</p><p style="margin-left:0cm;">The UK will need to capture and store millions of tonnes of CO<sub>2</sub> per year as part of the 2050 net zero pathway. Offshore hydrocarbon fields in Liverpool Bay are reaching the end of their production life and have been identified as suitable for repurposing into large-scale CCUS (Carbon Capture, Utilisation and Storage) projects.<br>The fundamental characteristics of fault systems exert a major control on subsurface fluid migration, reservoir compartmentalisation, and trapping mechanisms within potential CO<sub>2</sub> storage complexes. Consequently, optimal deployment of CCUS solutions relies upon a robust understanding of fault network architecture in the subsurface.<br>This project will utilise extensive industry datasets to characterise the tectono-stratigraphic framework offshore Liverpool Bay and provide the geoscientific evidence base relevant to future optimal development of CCUS solutions in the region. The research forms part of the <a href="https://ukenergyfutures.org" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">UK Energy Futures</a> research partnership, a joint industry-academia initiative supporting the UK energy transition, and contributes to <a href="https://hynet.co.uk" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">HyNet North West</a>, a major regional decarbonisation programme focused on reducing carbon emissions across north-west England and north Wales.</p><p style="margin-left:0cm;">The successful candidate will work closely with Dr. Nicola Scarselli as part of the research team. The role will involve contributing to the structural analysis of the study area through the integration of surface and subsurface datasets. This will include synthesising existing knowledge of the structural architecture offshore Liverpool Bay, establishing a regional tectono-stratigraphic framework, and carrying out detailed fault analysis for key structures. The project brings together universities, public authorities, NGOs and umbrella organisations from across Europe and New Zealand to explore how participatory theatre and digital practices can equip young people to become active and engaged citizens.</p><p style="margin-left:0cm;">The 0.4 FTE nature of this post suits early career researchers seeking flexibility alongside other commitments. The successful candidate will gain valuable experience of large-scale collaborative research, international networking, and interdisciplinary knowledge exchange across theatre, education and digital innovation.</p><p style="margin-left:0cm;">Working closely with the Principal Investigator and the Royal Holloway research team, the postholder will contribute to the development of an evidence-based framework for citizenship education. Key responsibilities include: reviewing existing research literature and case studies of citizenship education, including drama and theatre-driven approaches; organising and running focus groups with young people, educators, policymakers and other stakeholders; coordinating the development and pilot implementation of eight training modules in non-formal and informal settings; collecting and analysing data from pilots; developing assessment tools for measuring long-term impact; managing ethics applications; and disseminating findings through publications, conferences and advocacy events.</p><p style="margin-left:0cm;">We welcome applications from candidates with expertise in civic education, theatre and performance studies, participatory arts research, educational research, or related fields. We are particularly interested in applicants who can demonstrate knowledge of drama and theatre-driven approaches to citizenship education and experience of research with disadvantaged or diverse communities.</p><p style="margin-left:0cm;">You will hold a PhD in a relevant discipline or be close to completion, with demonstrable expertise in qualitative, quantitative and participatory research methods. The position will involve teaching undergraduate core and option modules on these courses and we are interested in candidates with teaching expertise or experience in the following: Crimes of the Powerful, Introduction to Criminology, Criminal Justice System, Key Perspectives and Debates in Criminology, and/or Quantitative Research Methods for Criminological Psychologists. Applicants with a (forensic/criminological) Psychology background that could supervise dissertations in our BPS-accredited BSc Criminology and Psychology programme are especially encouraged to apply. The role holder will provide strategic leadership with a focus on translating institutional priorities into deliverable plans that improve the student experience and student outcomes. They will help to drive the successful delivery of the RH2030s Education and Student Experience Action Plan, playing a pivotal role in delivering a portfolio of strategic projects that enhance the University&rsquo;s curriculum, strengthen teaching practice, ensure the quality of our provision, and the agility and ongoing relevance of our educational approaches. They will be essential to sustaining the delivery of key education related performance indicators, with a particular focus on enhancing the student experience and improving student outcomes.</p><p style="margin-left:0cm;">Reporting to the Pro-Vice-Chancellor Education and Student Experience, the successful candidate will work in partnership with the Faculty Deans, Associate Deans, Heads of Education and relevant lead/s for professional services to support the quality of our provision and the delivery of University strategy.</p><p style="margin-left:0cm;">The Chief Student Officer, and their team, will work in partnership with the Associate PVC Education &amp; Student Experience to ensure alignment of academic priorities and student facing services, ensuring a coherent delivery of RH2030s strategy. In particular, they will work together in key areas of student engagement, data driven improvement, and the delivery of policies and initiatives that support student success.</p><p style="margin-left:0cm;">The role holder will participate in key groups and committees, including Education Leadership Group and University Education Committee, and will serve as deputy to the Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Education &amp; Student Experience) in their role as Chair.</p><p style="margin-left:0cm;">The Associate Pro-Vice-Chancellor (ESE) is responsible for supporting a positive and inclusive environment for all colleagues and students.</p><p style="margin-left:0cm;"><strong>The position is being advertised as 3-year term (with the possibility of extension).
