            <p style="margin-left:0cm;" data-pasted="true">Full-Time, Permanent</p><p style="margin-left:0cm;">Applications are invited for the post of Teaching-Focussed Lecturer in Life Sciences on the Integrated Foundation Year (IFY) Programme at Royal Holloway, University of London. This is a 1.0 FTE ongoing position.</p><p style="margin-left:0cm;">The well-established and successful IFY programme at Royal Holloway teaches and supports up to 400 students per year across a broad range of disciplines. We are currently expanding the staffing of our STEM (Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics) strand to enhance the foundation year experience for our students through more discipline-focused courses.&nbsp;</p><p style="margin-left:0cm;">The successful applicant will be an experienced and talented teacher with experience of teaching Foundation Year students across a range areas within the Biological Sciences remit, and a particular interest in biology. They will have been responsible for students as a personal tutor. They will be experienced in using and teaching R Studio in a way that encourages and inspires students to embrace statistical analysis as part of their learning journey.             <p style="margin-left:0cm;" data-pasted="true">Full-Time, Fixed Term (until 30 June 2028)</p><p style="margin-left:0cm;">The Department of History and Classics at Royal Holloway University of London seeks to appoint a fixed-term Teaching Fellow beginning on 1 September 2026.&nbsp;</p><p style="margin-left:0cm;">The appointee will be expected to have a proven record of excellence in teaching Classical Language and Literature (Latin), or, in the case of early-career candidates, relevant experience and demonstrable potential.</p><p style="margin-left:0cm;">The appointee will be expected to play a full and active role in teaching in the Department of Classics. They will be required to teach, convene, and examine the following undergraduate courses: Latin at Advanced Level (30 credits), a 15-credit module on Ovid&rsquo;s <em>Metamorphoses</em>, 50% of the <em>Contemporary Approaches to Latin Literature</em> module, an introductory 15-credit modules on Latin Literature and the core module of our Foundation programme, <em>Foundations of Classical Studies</em>. They will also be required to supervise second-year projects on Virgil and final-year students&rsquo; dissertations and to support Foundation Year students in project work. Additionally, the appointee will be expected to contribute to administrative duties, taking on a small administrative load, and to attend relevant meetings and committees, as required. They will work closely with the Head of Department, the Head of Education and other academic members of staff in areas including curriculum design, lesson planning, and the development and implementation of learning technologies. and for offering pastoral support as Personal Tutor.&nbsp;</p><p style="margin-left:0cm;">Applicants should have experience of teaching Latin language and Classical literature, ideally to undergraduates in a university environment.             <p id="isPasted">Full-Time, Fixed-Term 2 years</p><p>Applications are invited for the post of Teaching Fellow in Modern German History to teach in the Department of History and Classics for two years from 1<sup>st</sup> September 2026. &nbsp; &nbsp;</p><p>The successful candidate will have the ability to teach flexibly across a range of modules at undergraduate level, including both specialist German history modules, such as &ldquo;(Re)Making Germany and the Germans, 1866-1955&rdquo; and &ldquo;Metropolis: Berlin in the Twentieth Century&rdquo;, and also broader Modern European History modules such as &ldquo;Safe European Home: Post-War Europe&rdquo;, &ldquo;Conflict and Identity in Modern Europe&rdquo;, and postgraduate modules such as &ldquo;Revolution in Europe: Cultures and Technologies from 1789 to Euromaidan.&rdquo;</p><p>The successful candidate will have a PhD and a developing publication record in Modern German/European history. They will have experience of teaching at undergraduate level, the ability to develop teaching materials and engage creatively with students. They will be willing to contribute to the department&rsquo;s efforts to recruit students and to provide pastoral support for students in the department.</p><p>With 45 full-time academic staff covering a broad range of periods and regions, the Department of History and Classics is a dynamic centre of research, teaching and external engagement. History is ranked 14<sup>th</sup> nationally in <em>The Guardian</em>&rsquo;s University Guide, and the department, which sits within the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences, has existing research and teaching strengths in the Modern European history.
