Full-Time, Fixed-Term (2 year contract)

Applications are invited for the post of Test Manager in the University’s IT Department.

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Test Analyst to join our IT Department in a new role on a fixed-term basis, while the University undertakes a major project to replace its Student Record System (SRS) and transform the operating model for Student Study Services.

This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a dynamic team, supporting essential services that impact students and staff across the institution. You’ll be part of a collaborative environment where your expertise will help maintain continuity and drive improvements during this period of transformation.

Key Responsibilities

  • The post holder will be responsible for creating or validating project-level test deliverables that ensure the system works as intended and according to requirements.
  • Ensure defects are tested, retested and resolved in a timely fashion
  • Ensure test risks and issues are escalated to the Test Manager
  • Support business and technical users with testing.
  • Support Test Manager in the creation and collection of test metrics, dashboards and status reports with tools such as Azure Dev Ops.

You will bring a strong analytical mindset, excellent communication skills, and a collaborative approach to problem-solving. Ideally, you will:

  • Hold a professional qualification relating to software testing, for example ISTQB Tester Foundation or ISTQB Tester Advanced – Test Manager,
  • Have experience in interpretation and review of specifications, and in delivering complex test projects in roles of test lead and/or test manager
  • Have good working knowledge of test automation, DevOps, test environments, test data, test management and SDLC tools Strong stakeholder engagement skills and a commitment to service excellence.
  • Experience in testing Student Records and/or Admissions Systems
  • Experience in a range of test and defect management tools and processes such as Azure Dev Ops.
