Full Time, Fixed Term (12 months)

Applications are invited for the fixed term post (maternity leave cover) of Lecturer in Law (Teaching Focus) in the Department of Law and Criminology.

The Department of Law and Criminology is part of the School of Law and Social Sciences. It is a forward thinking, inter-disciplinary and research active department, which offers undergraduate programmes in Law (LLB), Criminology & Psychology, Criminology & Sociology and Social Science; together with Masters programmes in Criminology, Social Work, Forensic Psychology, and Terrorism and Counter-Terrorism Studies. The Department is also home to an energetic research community and prides itself on its commitment to social justice which is underlined in its teaching, research, and external activities.

We seek an outstanding teacher and researcher to join our dynamic and multidisciplinary team. The Lecturer in Law posts are fixed term teaching focus positions which requires colleagues to engage in scholarship activities, defined by the University as ‘[t]he systematic study of the processes and outcomes of teaching, learning and assessment in such a way that it advances teaching and can be shared with others, as well as applied to teaching and learning contexts. It also includes keeping up with the scholarship of others.’ 

The position will involve teaching undergraduate core subjects on our LLB Course and we are interested in candidates with teaching expertise in Tort Law, Criminal Law, English Legal System and Family Law.
