Applications are invited for the post of Wellbeing Adviser within the Wellbeing department at Royal Holloway University of London.  This is a fixed term role available for 12 months, available from October 2022.

Our Wellbeing Advisers are responsible for the identification and support of students who may require short-term additional support at university or referral on for longer term support.  The post holder will work with our professional and skilled Wellbeing Advisers & Harassment Advisers to offer a triage and advice service to students and often act as a first point of contact for engagement with the other Wellbeing department teams. Working closely with professionals in the Wellbeing Department and the wider Student & Academic Services directorate, the successful candidate will contribute to the supportive and transformative university experience we strive to provide for our students and support our students to maintain and manage their mental health & wellbeing during their time as a student.

We are looking for candidates who can demonstrate empathy and understanding towards the concerns and challenges university students can face and people with a commitment to empowering and enabling students.  Candidates should have experience of working within wellbeing support and a clear understanding of student support best practice within higher education.  The post will involve working with students facing difficult challenges and candidates should have the capacity to handle emotionally charged situations. Candidates should be able to demonstrate a commitment to providing a high level of support to students and will be expected to build links with other internal and external sources of support for the benefit of the student body.  The ability to work in a fast paced environment whilst maintaining a high degree of accuracy and efficiency in their work is an essential as is the skill to communicate effectively with a broad range of stakeholders, most importantly our students.
