The Centre for the Development of Academic Skills (CeDAS), part of the Directorate for Education and Innovation at Royall Holloway, is recruiting an experienced Learning Developer to join its busy Academic Skills team.
CeDAS Learning Developers are at the leading edge of educational change, working collaboratively with academic colleagues to promote inclusive pedagogies whether by advising on curriculum design, working together on interventions (university-wide or school-wide), or devising and delivering tailored learning activities for one of the six constituent schools of the university. Learning Developers also develop online resources and oversee peer-learning schemes, collaborating with students in the co-creation, preparation and delivery of these initiatives.[SK1] [CG2]
The successful candidate will have significant experience of providing impactful, discipline-specific learning development activities for undergraduate and taught postgraduate students in the sciences or social sciences. Importantly, they will be knowledgeable about the theory and practical application of inclusive pedagogies and wellbeing strategies that enable students from diverse backgrounds to thrive academically. A recognised teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, DELTA) or Fellowship/Senior Fellowship of the HEA is essential as well as excellent communication, organisational, team-working and interpersonal skills.
