Applications are invited for the post of Specialist One to One Study Skills Tutor in the Disability & Dyslexia Services Department

This is Part Time, Term Time Only (3 days a week)

As a specialist tutor you will provide one to one assistance to students with Specific Learning Difficulties (SpLD), and will encourage students, through developing strategies and facilitation, to take responsibility for their own learning.

You will set clear standards and expectations for your sessions and the nature of the help you provide will be in line with the student learning preferences and will include: time management, organisation, reading and memory strategies, oral communication skills, planning and writing amongst others.

The successful candidate will hold a qualification in supporting students on a one to one basis and experience with disability issues in HE, and have excellent communication, time management and organisational skills. They should be able to work flexibly to support students’ needs, and be a full or associate member of one of the following professional bodies: ADSHE, PATOSS, BDA, The Dyslexia Guild.
