Royal Holloway Business School
As an AACSB accredited Business School, we are driven by social purpose. We are committed to inspiring and empowering students and staff to realise their full potential and to make positive change. Royal Holloway Business School is a leader in progressive education.
This is an exciting time to join us as we are looking to build on our current successes, our heritage and our strategic location, to become a leading School nationally and globally by investing in all areas of activity. We offer programmes at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels, both nationally (from our Surrey and Central London campuses) and internationally through our global partnerships with the University of London. We aim to provide an outstanding student experience, which teaches the skills needed to join leading organisations or set up new businesses.
Our research is challenge-led and world leading. The most recent Research Excellence framework (of 2021) indicated that 82% of our research was 'world-leading or internationally excellent', placing us in the top quartile in terms of outputs in the UK. This research, which is led by three Research Centres, aims to deliver impact and be externally funded.
The Candidate
RHBS invites applications for the position of Lecturer (Teaching Focus) with expertise in management information systems, with particular emphasis on AI and business analytics. This is an excellent opportunity for you to contribute to practiced-focused teaching in our business school, strengthening our capacity to enhance student employability skills, and bridging our education with industry needs.
You will primarily deliver high-quality, practice-focussed teaching across our accelerated undergraduate degree, with opportunities to teach on other undergraduate and postgraduate courses. You will be pivotal in leading the design of new practice-orientated modules on our new flagship degree, creating opportunities for external practitioners from London’s business community to infuse our curriculum with external talks, industry focussed projects and fieldtrips. You will need to excel in supporting learners from diverse backgrounds, maintaining high-contact teaching, delivering regular formative feedback, while supporting student success in a fast-paced environment.
You do not need to hold a PhD, and may have previous industry experience, but will need to demonstrate excellence in teaching practice, curriculum design and delivery in business applications of AI, analytics, and cloud computing. You will have proven expertise in enhancing student employability skills, while bridging theory with practice through innovative pedagogy. HEA membership is desirable along with professional education accreditations. You will be able to evidence how you are embedded in the pedagogic community to continually develop your professional practice, to enhance the experience of our students, through the creation of peer-reviewed publications, teaching materials and case studies.
RHBS is committed to innovative, high-quality, practice-focussed teaching that equips students with the employability skills and professional knowledge to excel in their careers: graduates resilient to challenges and poised to capture new opportunities. You will relish the opportunity to teach and mentor students into becoming the leaders of tomorrow.
