Full time, Term-time only (41 weeks)

Applications are invited for the post of Language Tutor in Spanish in the Department of Languages, Literatures and Cultures to start 2 September 2024. This is a permanent, term-time only post. Salary is pro rata.

The successful applicant will join a vibrant department hosting students of Spanish, French, German and Italian, as part of a wide choice of flexible degree programmes.

Applicants should have a proven track record of excellence in teaching Spanish or, in the case of early career candidates, relevant experience and demonstrable potential. The appointee will be expected to teach, convene and examine undergraduate courses in Spanish language and translation at all levels, to contribute to administrative duties, and to attend relevant meetings as required. They will work closely with the Departmental Language Co-ordinator and the Undergraduate Education Lead, in areas including curriculum design, lesson planning, and the implementation of learning technologies.

Ideally applicants should have experience of teaching Spanish language at both beginners’ and advanced levels, and preferably in a university environment. They should have a strong commitment to developing innovative and inclusive teaching materials, an ability to engage creatively with students, and a native or near-native command of spoken and written Spanish.
