Full-Time, Fixed-Term (for 12 months)

Applications are invited for the post of Graduate Project Manager (Compliance) in the Health, Safety and Business Continuity (HSBC) Directorate for a 2-year fixed-term post.

The HSBC provides a range of support to the University around health, safety, and business continuity. This includes identification of non-compliances and working with stakeholders to manage their impact. This role will assist in the project management of a long-term multi-million-pound compliance program to improve infrastructure, largely around fire safety but also including other elements such as Legionella and asbestos. This will include assisting more senior project managers, both internal and external, and managing smaller projects themselves

We require a professional and personable individual who can prioritise tasks and demonstrates a high level of organisational skills and flexibility. Their tasks will be varied but will include day-to-day management of projects against an agreed schedule, liaison with various internal and external stakeholders, all associated project documentation including tracking expenditure. The HSBC is co-located with Estates and there will be a close working relationship between this role and the Project Management team within Estates.

The HSBC is customer focused, assisting and empowering colleagues to allow them to make appropriate decisions about health and safety. While legal compliance is the minimum, we strive for excellence and best practice within the Higher Education sector. This is achieved through building relationships with stakeholders, both internally and externally. While this role will not be providing health and safety advice an interest or experience in the area is an advantage.

In return we offer a highly competitive rewards and benefits package including:

  • Generous annual leave entitlement
  • Training and Development opportunities
  • Pension Scheme with generous employer contribution
  • Various schemes, including Cycle to Work, Season Ticket Loans and help with the cost of Eyesight testing
  • Free Parking
