Applications are invited for the post of Senior Lecturer in the Department of Psychology, Royal Holloway, University of London. 

The successful candidate will play a leading role in the development of a new interdisciplinary BSc in Environment and Social Change within the School of Life Sciences and the Environment, working in close collaboration with the other departments in the School. Applicants should have a background in an area of psychology that is applicable to the programme (e.g. behavioural change in relation to social action, environmental psychology etc.).

The post may be taken up under any of our three contract types:

  • Research and Teaching
  • Teaching Focused 
  • Professional Practice

The department has a strong track record of supporting career trajectories along all three tracks: workload expectations are adjusted accordingly, and colleagues have reached professorial level under each of the different contract types.

All applicants should possess the broad range of skills required to teach effectively at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, and to lead on the implementation of a new undergraduate programme. They should also demonstrate strong commitment to delivering an outstanding experience for our students.

Candidates for the research and teaching track should have an ongoing track record of publishing internationally-leading research and should bring new potential for delivering ground-breaking scientific discoveries.

Candidates for the teaching-focused track should have a relevant research background as well as an ongoing track record of making significant contributions to teaching practice in psychology, for example through the development of successful teaching and learning aids and/or pedagogic publications.

Candidates for the professional practice track should have a relevant research background as well as an ongoing track record of nationally-recognised practice within their disciplinary field, demonstrated through key networks with industry, business and professional bodies.
