Full-Time, Fixed Term (Maternity Cover)

Salary in range of £33,797 - £40,322 per annum pro rata. London Allowance of £2,134 will be payable in addition to salary.

We’re looking for a creative, dynamic and experienced PR and Media Manager to join the Marketing and Communications team. This is an exciting role and you will be at the forefront of creating and delivering proactive media relations and PR campaigns to raise the profile and enhance the reputation of Royal Holloway.

Within this varied role you will drive PR campaigns across news, special interest and consumer media channels at local, national and international level. You will also deliver an effective response service to a wide range of reactive media enquiries.

You will have experience of working in a reactive and proactive press office and have a great eye for a story. Identifying proactive PR opportunities is a key part of the role and you’ll also be comfortable developing creative and engaging content to support PR activities. The role involves working with a broad spectrum of media and higher education influencers and you will be expected to develop and maintain a network of contacts.

To be successful in this role you will be an excellent communicator with outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with people at all levels. As a motivated and confident self-starter, strong organisational skills, the ability to manage your time effectively and work to tight deadlines, are essential for this role. 

Experience within Higher Education is not necessary, however you should have previous media and PR experience gained from working in reactive and proactive press office or PR agency environment. You should also have the ability to navigate large organisations and confidently build relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders.

This is a full time fixed term post available from April 2021

This is a fixed term post available from April 2021 to cover a period of maternity leave up to one year. This appointment could end earlier than expected should the substantive post-holder return to work early.
