Full-Time, Fixed-Term (Maternity Cover until May 2022) 

Salary in range of £33,797 - £40,322 per annum pro rata. London Allowance of £2,134 will be payable in addition to salary.

Applications are invited for the post of Alumni Relations Manager within the External Relationships group, part of the university’s directorate of Marketing and Communications. This position is available from the end of May 2021 due to maternity leave.  

Working closely with the Assistant Director, External Relationships, the post-holder will manage the delivery of a strategy to increase the engagement of alumni in the life of the College.  By leading activities that engage alumni, the post holder will ensure that academic and administrative colleagues are able to maintain strong connections with graduates, in order to unlock contributions that support the university’s strategic objectives. 

The diverse needs and interests of the university’s alumni community requires a complex approach, involving formal associations, events (currently online), as well as printed and online communication channels and the delivery of specific services to alumni.

You will have a successful track record in communications and a good understanding of alumni relations, volunteer management and philanthropy. A positive and flexible approach to work, the ability to analyse and understand data, organisational and project management skills and the tact and communication skills to build strong relationships with alumni and associated stakeholders are all essential.

The post is home based at present, but it is anticipated that during the term of the appointment the postholder will work from the university’ campus in Egham, Surrey where the College is situated and within commuting distance from London. 

This is a fixed term post to cover a period of maternity leave until May 2022. This appointment could end earlier than expected should the substantive post-holder return to work early.

Please note that it will not be possible for the College to issue a Certificate of Sponsorship for successful candidates as the pro-rata salary will not meet the minimum threshold set by UK Visas and Immigration.
