Applications are invited for the post of Lecturer in Neuroscience in the Department of Biological Sciences

We are seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Neuroscience to complement the research and teaching in the Department of Biological Sciences within the School of Life Sciences and the Environment. We invite applications from candidates with research interests and expertise in cellular and molecular neuroscience that fit with the strategic drive of the School and to complement our strengths in this area. Research areas of interest include, but are not limited to, the molecular and cellular basis of ageing, mechanisms associated with cognitive function (e.g. learning and memory, plasticity), damage and repair. 

Applicants will hold a PhD degree in Neuroscience or a similar discipline. Applicants will have published in high-quality journals and show the potential to gain research funding in relation to UK research councils and other sources. Applicants are expected to contribute to the Department’s teaching portfolio and to the supervision of undergraduate and postgraduate students. We strive for excellence in research, in the dissemination of research outcomes and in teaching.  We are therefore looking for candidates with excellent personal and interpersonal skills.
