Applications are invited for the post of Cyber Security Operations Manager in the IT Services Department. The Cyber Security Operations Manager will lead the day-to-day monitoring, intervention, incident response and security controls for the College as a whole. They will manage an internal team and coordinate external partners in leveraging a range of technologies (primarily within the Microsoft stack) to protect the College’s applications, services and information assets from cyber security related threats.

Royal Holloway University has exciting digital aspirations as well as a complex and diverse IT offering.  The role of Cyber Security Operations Manager will play a key role in ensuring the correct security posture for the College.  The successful candidate will have an opportunity to work closely with the IT Services Senior Management team and the wider college leadership to ensure the Cyber Security offering is in line with the Business goals.

We would welcome applications from a diverse range of backgrounds including:

  • Individuals with service desk / IT Service management experience with an interest in pursuing career advancement in Cyber Security
  • Individuals with experience of implementing and operating Cyber security monitoring platforms and technical controls from the perspective of system administration or project delivery seeking a service management role
  • Experienced Cyber security analysts looking for line management experience, a wider remit and a diverse portfolio of applications, services and users

Ideally, you will have experience of a broad range of IT service activities and knowledge of security monitoring and vulnerability scanning tools. You will need to show that this portfolio of activity can be managed between onsite teams and carefully selected security partners.  We will also expect a creative approach in how to engage with the users and increase awareness and positive security behaviours.
