Salary in range of £33,797 - £40,322 per annum pro rata. London Allowance of £2,134 will be payable in addition to salary.

We’re looking for a creative, dynamic and experienced PR and Media Manager (StoryFutures Academy / Festival UK* 2022) to join the Marketing and Communications team at Royal Holloway. This is an exciting new role and you will be at the forefront of creating and delivering a proactive media relations and PR strategy to promote our StoryFutures project which has just been commissioned for Festival UK* 2022

Festival UK* 2022 will take place across England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales. It will deliver a programme of ground-breaking new commissions with the ambition of reaching millions, bringing people together and promoting the UK’s creativity to the world. StoryFutures Academy is lead partner for one of the ten projects selected to form the commissioned programme. Our project is an experiment in film, broadcast and augmented reality, public archives, digital access and immersive storytelling asking who are we? Where did we come from and where are we headed?

The PR and Media Manager will be responsible for proactively identifying, planning and leading on the delivery of PR and media activity to promote the project across regional, national and international audiences.  As you would expect, there will be a significant digital element to the role. You will liaise with all project partners and Festival UK* 2022 to maximise PR opportunities and ensure a consistent approach to communications.

You will have a great eye for a story and can point to your success in creatively and effectively bringing stories to life. The role involves working with a broad spectrum of media and the creative industries and higher education influencers and you will be expected to develop and maintain a network of contacts. Researching, creating and curating engaging content throughout the duration of the project to support PR and communications activity is a key element of this role. 

To be successful in this role you will be an excellent communicator with outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with people at all levels. As a motivated and confident self-starter, you should possess outstanding organisational skills and the ability to work to tight deadlines. 

Experience of working within the creative industries sector is desirable and you should have previous media and PR management experience gained from working in reactive and proactive press office or PR agency environment. You should also have the ability to navigate large organisations and confidently build relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders.

The post is based in Egham, Surrey where the College is situated in a beautiful, leafy campus near to Windsor Great Park and within commuting distance from London.

While there will be a requirement to work from the campus with some frequency, some home working will also be possible.
