We are looking for a highly organized, personable and enthusiastic Research & Development (R&D) Producer to manage the delivery of our innovation projects and coordinate our engagement with creative businesses. The role is a unique opportunity that will place you face to face with some of the UK’s most cutting-edge creative innovators, top industry players, and world-leading researchers. It is a chance to gain experience across creative R&D, communications and events, and contribute to the development of a high-growth, dynamic immersive storytelling sector.

StoryFutures Creative Cluster brings together leading innovators in immersive storytelling with academic experts to develop ground-breaking ideas, prototypes and products using new forms of storytelling fuelled by technologies such as Virtual and Augmented Reality, Haptics and Artificial Intelligence. It is led by Royal Holloway, University of London working with major industry partners such as The National Gallery, BBC Studios, Festival 2022, the BFI, Nexus Studios, Arcade and more. Based in one of the UK’s top creative and digital industry areas, it is part of an unprecedented public investment in creative industries R&D through the Creative Industries Clusters programme

This role is central to our mission and has three key aspects:

  • Managing the delivery of our R&D programmes working closely with leading creative innovators and academic experts
  • Coordinating our industry network and outreach, including organising events and communication activities, as well as responsibility over our industry database
  • Tracking and reporting on our work to our funders, the Arts & Humanities including key performance indicators and drafting evaluation case studies.

We are looking for someone who thrives in a busy innovation environment, and who combines interest in creativity with strong coordination skills, experience of communicating to a wide range of audiences, and great attention to detail.

In exchange, we are offering a supportive environment with plenty of opportunity for learning and growth, working with a team of highly creative and collaborative colleagues.

You are likely to have solid experience coordinating projects and events, ideally in a creative, digital or marketing environment, along with strong communications and organisational skills, and experience of working with databases. Experience in a research and/or innovation is a bonus but not a must. Ideally you are a strong collaborator and have great digital skills across data management, cloud-based information systems, and content editing for blogs and social media.
