Applications are invited for the post of Health and Safety Officer (Risk and Travel) in the Health and Safety Office, part of the Legal and Governance Directorate. 

Joining the Health and Safety Office as it expands to support the college more effectively and proactively, this role will play a dual role in providing general health and safety support to a range of academic departments and acting as the college expert on both general risk assessment and travel risk assessment. 

We require an experienced health and safety professional with a minimum of a level 3 health and safety qualification. They will have demonstrable knowledge and experience of managing travel risk, including international travel. The ability to communicate and influence stakeholders at all levels is essential, with effective communication skills being expected. The Health and Safety Office is customer focused, assisting and empowering colleagues to allow them to make appropriate decisions about health and safety. While legal compliance is the minimum, we strive for excellence and best practice within the Higher Education sector. This is achieved through building relationships with stakeholders, both internally and externally. A candidate will demonstrate not just a knowledge of legal requirements and best practice but an ability to apply this pragmatically and appropriately to support both academic and professional services colleagues.
