Applications are invited for the post of Optional Placement Year Administrator in the Careers Service.

The Careers Service at Royal Holloway is responsible for delivering a wide range of employability services to all students and recent graduates to improve graduate destinations. The new College Strategy re-emphasises the importance of employability and graduate outcomes, and confirms the Careers Service as a core team.

The Optional Placement Year is a new programme for Royal Holloway, offering students the flexibility to enhance their academic qualifications with experiences of work placements, volunteering opportunities, studying abroad, or a combination of these options.

Reporting to the Head of Placements and Student Experience, the post holder will have responsibility of coordinating the delivery of the Optional Placement Year, ensuring a smooth experience throughout, and liaising with academic departments, students and employers to ensure that all processes and compliances are followed. The post holder may also be required to support other work-based learning activities and programmes for students.

The appointee will require a high level of planning and organisation skills, the ability to work under pressure and to resolve problems effectively. The successful candidate will also have experience of working to targets and deadlines, building effective relationships and of working in a strongly customer-focused environment. Excellent communication and analytical skills are also essential as is computer literacy in MS Office.
