Applications are invited for the post of Placements Officer in the Careers Service.

The Careers Service at Royal Holloway is responsible for delivering a wide range of employability services to all students and recent graduates to improve graduate destinations. The new College Strategy re-emphasises the importance of employability and graduate outcomes, and confirms the Careers Service as a core team.

Reporting to the Placements and Work-based Learning Manager, the post holder will have responsibility of coordinating and delivering a range of work-based learning activities and programmes, with a focus on short-term placements, including student recruitment, building strong relationships with businesses to source suitable work experience opportunities, undertaking administrative processes associated with placements, assisting academic staff in the development of work-based learning programmes as well as supporting students and employers throughout the placements process. Increasing the number of students who engage with experiential opportunities that improve graduate employability is a strategic priority for the College, so the post-holder will join the Careers Service at an exciting period of ongoing investment.   

The appointee will require a high level of planning and organisation skills, the ability to work under pressure and to resolve problems effectively. The successful candidate will also have experience of working to targets and deadlines, building effective relationships and of working in a strongly customer-focused environment. Excellent communication, negotiation and analytical skills are also essential as is computer literacy in MS Office.
