Applications are invited for the post of Student Administration Officer in Student Administration within the Student Journey Directorate. This role is available from October 2024.

The role of Student Administration Officer (Timetabling) is based in the Timetabling Team in Student Administration.

Student Administration is responsible for delivering the core administrative functions involved in the student lifecycle, from Enrolment to Results. The department is focused on delivering an excellent student experience by developing and delivering effective and efficient processes to support students through their journey at the University.

The Timetabling Team is responsible for the delivery of student and staff timetables and room allocations for all teaching. We manage a room booking service for teaching and School spaces and work closely with the Schools to provide a high quality service to staff and students.

The Student Administration Officer (Timetabling) works as part of a team to support the Timetabling Manager with the collection, configuration, scheduling and maintenance of the academic timetable, comprising of undergraduate, postgraduate taught and postgraduate research teaching activities.  They will also work with other members in the Timetabling Team to ensure examination timetabling, the room booking service, module feedback surveys and management of timetabling queries are completed efficiently.

Candidates for this post should have excellent IT skills, problem solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong communication skills are essential. Experience in academic timetabling would be advantageous. They should also be committed to contributing to the continual development and provision of a high quality service to students and staff.
