Applications are invited from current Royal Holloway students for the post of Development Intern within the External Relationships group, part of the university’s directorate of Marketing and Communications. 

This is a part-time (casual) internship starting 1 September 2022 and continuing into the 2022/23 academic year and therefore the internship is suitable for a continuing Royal Holloway student.  The hours worked will be as follows:

  • 1 September 2022 – 31 July 2023:  up to a maximum of 20 hours per week (worked over 3 or 4 days).  

There will be some flexibility to support working around essential academic work, for example lectures and exams.

The successful candidate will provide support to the Head of Development and Development Managers to engage Royal Holloway donors with compelling content. Specifically they will support in gathering content for the team to share on social media channels, stewardship of donors and website updates to increase engagement. In addition they will assist in dealing with incoming/outgoing correspondence from scholars. 

The successful candidate will have an excellent standard of written English with a good eye for detail and experience of (or interest in) writing content. They will also have experience of using key social media platforms to engage a range of audiences. Demonstrable organisational skills are essential, along with the ability to work independently to deadlines positively and proactively.
