Applications are invited for the post of Languages for All tutor in Mandarin in the Department of Languages, Literatures and Cultures.

We are seeking an experienced and qualified mother tongue Mandarin teacher to join our vibrant team on the Languages for All programme. The position will involve teaching students and staff of Royal Holloway as well as members of the local community during the academic year 2019-2020.

There will be four hours of teaching for complete and false beginners at the following times (in addition, there will be some preparation duties): 

Wednesday 16:00- 18:00 and 18:00- 20:00

To start from 23 September 2019.

Term dates:

  • Autumn term: 23/09/2019 to 13/12/2019
  • Spring term: 13/01/2020 to 27/03/2020

The applicant will be an enthusiastic and motivated teaching professional with excellent understanding of the linguistic structures of Mandarin and of the current methodological practices in language teaching, within Higher Education. S/he will also possess very good English communication skills, and have a keen interest in encouraging and inspiring students to love learning Mandarin.
