Applications are invited for the post of Careers Consultant in the Careers Service at Royal Holloway
A part time, permanent Careers Consultant position has arisen within the Careers Service at Royal Holloway. Joining the Careers Consultant team at an exciting phase of implementation of the University’s Employability Strategy, the appointee will get the opportunity to help students achieve their Career Aspirations by working with students individually (providing advice, guidance and application checking), through group activity and in collaboration with academic departments to deliver timetabled or in-curriculum careers education. Groupwork activity will consist of online, face-to-face and hybrid Careers Service delivered workshops and in-curriculum careers programs. In particular, the post holder will support the needs of our students in the School of Engineering, Physics and Mathematical Sciences (EPMS).
The appointee will work closely with the team of Careers Consultants, academics within the School of Engineering, Physics and Mathematical Sciences and the other colleagues across the Careers Service (Employer Engagement, Placements and Volunteering).
The successful candidate will be able to deliver engaging and interactive workshops in-person, online and hybrid. They will need have good knowledge of graduate recruitment practices and well-developed influencing and negotiation skills. Excellent written English, multitasking and the ability to collaborate with others are also key attributes.
