Exam Invigilator (Academic Services)

Casual Post

From £13.52 an hour inclusive of London Allowance

 

Applications are invited for the post of Exam Invigilator in the Student Administration section of Academic Services to cover the University’s exam sessions in the 2024/25 academic year.  The University holds exam sessions in the spring and summer terms and for 2 weeks during the summer vacation.

 

We are seeking to appoint invigilators to join the team starting with the summer term assessment period.  Successful candidates are expected to be reliable, punctual, diligent, good communicators and to remain calm under pressure.  Previous experience in a similar role is useful but not essential.   Full training will be given.  

 

The dates of the 2024/25 exams sessions are:

  • Summer Term       6 May – 6 June 2025
  • Summer Vacation  26 August – 5 September 2025

 

Candidates would need to available from 9:15 am for morning exam sessions and 1:45 pm for afternoon sessions.  Shift end times vary according to the length of the exams.

 

This is a part time, casual post, available from 1 April 2025 for a fixed term period up to 15 September 2025 (earlier end dates are available if appropriate). You will also need to be available for a mandatory training and induction session on 15 April 2025. This post is based in Egham, Surrey where the University is situated in a beautiful, leafy campus near to Windsor Great Park and within commuting distance from London.

 

We welcome applications from external and internal candidates. Internal candidates should note that only current staff, new starters, and current Postgraduate Research Students can apply. Applications from current undergraduate and current postgraduate taught students will not be considered.

 

If you have any previous experience working as an invigilator or supervisor of an exam venue, we are also seeking to appoint exam venue supervisors. If this is something you are interested in, please indicate this on your application form.
