Applications are invited for the post of Research and Teaching Technician in the Biological Sciences Department.

The Department of Biological Sciences requires a technician to provide technical support for research in the Centre for Biomedical Sciences.   Working within a team of technical staff across teaching, research and central services.

You will have proven experience of working in a research laboratory environment, have technical knowledge and understanding of key procedures in a biomedical sciences setting, as aligned with the job description and person specification. You will be responsible for the care and maintenance of laboratories, equipment and associated facilities, and the ability to interact effectively with all members of the department, at academic, technical and student level. 

You will have the opportunity to support a variety of research groups and associated projects.  Receiving on the job training in laboratory specific techniques and protocols, as well as training in key elements of health and safety.

For a period of the year (1 term) the role also provides technical support to teaching practicals across the subject area, this is not a teaching role.
