The post is for 0.2 FTE for two years and is available immediately. 

Computer Science at Royal Holloway is seeking to appoint a 0.2 FTE teaching fellow to support high-quality teaching, supervision and software projects, and to promote entrepreneurship.

The department carries out outstanding research and delivers excellent teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate level. In the 2014 Research Excellence Framework, we ranked 11th in the UK for the quality of our research output. Our staff have also won several teaching awards and our teaching of software engineering was described as ‘Best Practice’ by the British Computer Society. We have also created a university-based software-development company (Code Groovers) through which we give our students the opportunity to engage in projects for real clients.

Specific duties and responsibilities of this post include: delivering modules in the areas of programming or software engineering, including team projects; assessing student work; supervising student projects; contributing to the development of software applications that support laboratory-based teaching; contributing to Code Groovers projects; and contributing to departmental outreach activities.

The successful candidates will hold a bachelors degree in Computer Science or equivalent. We will appoint a candidate with a proven record of sustained experience in delivering the full lifecycle of software projects as a professional. Experience in entrepreneurship is required as the Department is keen to promote entrepreneurship amongst our student body. Experience in leading teams of students in projects is desirable.

We are both close to Central London and 10 minutes by taxi from Heathrow Airport, and situated in the “M4 corridor”, home to a large number of leading-edge technology companies.
