Applications are invited for the post of Distance Learning Online Tutor in the Information Security Group / EPMS.  Positions are available to support two modules launching on 9 January 2023 – Network and Infrastructure Security and Computer Systems Security. 

This is an exciting opportunity to support the new Distance Learning MSc Cyber Security programme which successfully launched on Coursera in October 2022. 

Co-ordinating with a team of Online Tutors and the Module Leader the post holder will teach and provide online support for a group of up to 50 students per tutor group during a 12-week study session. 

Following a period of familiarisation with the Coursera platform and the course materials, created by one of our own subject experts you will monitor and reply to students’ comments and questions within the discussion forums and support the Module Leader to deliver a series of live webinars. We anticipate this role to take 2-3 hours per week.

We are looking for individuals with subject knowledge in Cyber Security, experience of managing their own teaching and excellent communication skills.  Prior use of VLE platforms such as Coursera / Moodle to deliver teaching materials and interact with students would be advantageous but training will be provided.

This is a fully remote/ online role. Candidates will only be required to come onto campus to complete the in-person ID checks as part of the onboarding process.
