The School of Engineering, Physical and Mathematical Sciences (EPMS) at Royal Holloway, University of London comprises the Departments of Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, Information Security, Mathematics and Physics.  Due to growth in our popular Electronic Engineering portfolio of courses, we are now recruiting a fixed-term member of academic staff to support teaching and scholarship in the broad field of Electronic Engineering and Creative Technologies. The successful candidate must hold a PhD and will be expected to contribute to the development of teaching and scholarship in two or more of the areas of Embedded Systems, C++ Programming, Agile Project Management, User-Centred Design, Analogue Electronic Circuits and/or Digital Signal Processing. Experience in engaging with industry and contributing to outreach activities is also essential.

The appointee will be primarily focused on teaching to our UG and PGT students at our Egham campus.  They may also be required to contribute to teaching in the field of Immersive Technology as part of the Co-STAR project within our National Centre for StoryFutures. The successful candidate will be asked to contribute to a range of departmental activities, including teaching and project supervision over a range of topics related to their specialism.  The post holder will be expected to teach and supervise at undergraduate and postgraduate level with responsibility for the design, management and delivery of their teaching. They will also participate in departmental administration as required by the Head of Department.

This is a fixed-term post for 48 months due to external funding, available from December 2024 or as soon as possible thereafter. The post will be based within the Department of Electronic Engineering, with academic support and teaching duties primarily based on our main campus in Egham but with possible need to travel to our central London campus in Bloomsbury.
